Don't say goodbye

It has been a week since I update my blog.

The atmosphere in the pharmacy is "emotional". Why emotional? Perhaps, it is due to the fact that Siti and Auntie Dolly are leaving our branch and will be posted to other locations. There are so many guesses behind the notification of transfer. So, is it due to management decisions, personal grudges, promoters' politics, a desire to change for a better environment, personal reasons or performance evaluation? There are so much guesses . . . just too many

Nevertheless, I have reinforced my belief of "Treasure the moments you have with anyone in your life". Sometimes, I feel that we take things for granted. We always have the mentality in mind that we can always communicate with this person tommorrow, the day after or maybe during the weekend. We have too often failed to recognise the possibility of impromptu events. What happened if these people have to go. . . disappear . . . forever?

Having worked with Siti during my last school vacation and the current holidays (about 1 month), its only this evening that I get to sit down and have a proper informal conversation with her. I was really careful with my words as I do not want to upset her further. Being in the shoes of Siti, I can imagine her feelings. A diligent gal (though rumoured to be a slow worker) who has contributed 4.5 years of youth to a small outlet located in the basement of a shopping mall . . . and out of the blue . . . was asked to move to another outlet. Worst! She has to put down all her fond memories, friends, efforts and to move on . . . really move on.

Last night. I sent Siti this sms:

"Thanks for your help all this while. Will remember the gal who taught me how and where to throw cartons. . . and thanks for tolerating my nonsene. Glad to know you and will pop by Suntec real soon. Be strong, positive and always cheerful. Sometimes, when you have to go, you have to. Most importantly, is the memories and experiences that you have gained, rite?"
