UOC'07 Fright Night Rockz!
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 2:00 PM

The fight night committee much waited "baby" is finally borne! Whee~
After much brainstorming, preparation, setting up, liaising and confirmation, UOC'07 fright night was a real success.
The preparation was not easy and rather tedious. Serene was out of campus, marketing for relevant materials that we were still lacking. The set up was done by basically myself, Zhuoyuan and Sandra while Ivan came slightly later. Logistics were a real essential to fright night. However, carrying them around and setting up were not really that easy. Thanks to the availability of our Union Van and the perseverance in our fright night team. Hohohos ...
Next ... getting all the programmers, seniors attached, etc were really not easy. Seeing the time ticked by, yet, with all the ghost makeup yet to be done and briefing to be given. For event like this, we need everyone to coordinate to make the fright night a success. One word to describe - Cooperation!
Anyway, fright night for Union Orientation 2007 was over on Thursday Morn. Its time to get prepared and geared for study! Cheers~
Well Done to Myself, Zhuoyuan, Sandra, Serene and Ivan!Labels: Cheers

All ready for UOC 2007
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 10:12 PM

I would be leaving for NTU Union orientation camp tomorrow. The camp will last from 23rd Juy to 28th July. Woah! How time flies! Last year this time, I was still a blur and dumbfounded freshie ... and this year, I am a senior. Whee~
Hmm, spent my afternoon consolidating the fright night logistics stuff as well as my orientation "field pack". Hahas! Hopefully, the fight night would be a success yar?
The pictures show some props for the fright night. The CDs and buddha scriptures radio are for the background music for the various stations/rooms, those syringes are to withdraw the chemical from the cylum sticks (cylum sticks are expensive wor), the chinese knot and guidelines are mainly for the first station - "Lovers' Death", I brainstormed the drawings of faces to be guidelines to painting "ghosts" faces, those cosmetics are for station "putting makeup for the dead" and lastly, the jerseys for the sporty "ghost" ... as for those incense papers, they would be used as official praying materials as well as be props for the various stations ...
Lastly, my "field pack" ... its big and heavy! Lols ... However, I believe this year orientation camp would be fun!
More pictures to be uploaded after 28th! (Watch this space)Labels: Pre-Camp

Last Day at work = Busy Day
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 11:53 PM
This morning was my last day at work. I have to declare this as I will be having my orientation next week and introductory Mathematics lessons the week after. It wasnt really that hectic at work though except that it was my very first time delivering merchandises to the doorstep of Guardian's customer.
I ended my work at around 415pm. I was telling myself then; "Zave, treat this as any other days yar. Dont be too emotional." However, the bidding goodbyes and farewell wishes from both my colleagues and the promoters are heart warming. I was strong enough not to be emotional as I promised them that I will visit them in the near future while asking them to take good care of themselves.
After work, its a series of preparation and "market-ing" for my orientation fright night logistics stuff. I went to laminate the guidelines for the chinese "true lovers knot", purchase the metal tub for incense burning and of course the incense papers. They costs me about $67 in total. Apart from the logistics preparation, I sent my contact lens for servicing and purchased 6 pair of daily lenses for orientation stay-over purpose.
Oki, thats all for today! Gotta wake up early tml to settle my bag, consolidate the logistics items, collect jerseys from Sek Heng and some paperworks for academic matters.

Hey folks! I cut my hair today! And . . . I mean really cut! Lols
After having my breakfast with Dad and Mom, I headed to the hair salon. Hmm, the salon was rather empty (perhaps it is thursday today).
Everytime I go for my hairdo, I will yearn to have a "completely new me", which means, I desire for a completely new hairdo that differentiate me from the existing image.
At first, since I am having long hair on current, I asked my stylist to cut a real short hairdo for me, with the fringe being real short. Eh ... she kind of hesitated. Annie remarked that its a waste for me to cut away my "long-kept" hair. Moreover, she mentioned that "real short fringe" is for someone who are bold and an undisputable fashion dude/divs. My initial position kind of swayed. Thus, I requested her to just trim and style my very long hair. After styling my hair, looking myself in the mirror ... I wondered "Oh Gosh! No different . . . and my hair seems rather dry ar?". Therefore, I opted for the really short hairdo with utimately short fringe! Hahas ...
Remarks from my colleagues:
Ghaitree: Nice! Zave, you looked different!
Sariah: Are you Zave?
Serene: Woah! Handsome boy ar! You are younger...
Hamidah: Eh .. are we having a new staff on board?
My Mom is still adjusting to my "very short" fringe while my brother said its time for a change.
C'mon Zave! Learn to live with it!Labels: Hairdo

I was scheduled to work the afternoon shift today. Hmm, actually nothing new, have been scheduled to work afternoon all along. It was rather busy in the outlet today, with the area manager proposing changes, the displaying of goods, the cleaning up of dusty areas and of course the endless cashier-ing.
Am rather happy to met Siew Fong, a relief pharmacist to the outlet. She is very friendly, jovial and chattable. I simply prefer pharmacist like her, no attitude and the aura of arrogant air. Just simply detest pharmacist who, just because you dont talk to her or for some other reasons, and talk behind your back.
Nearing to closing, Siew Fong asked me on my age. Hahas ...being playful, I asked her to guess. You guess what? She remarked that I look like either 19s or 20s. Lols... Is this the effect of consuming collagen bird nest? I doubt so ... thanks Mummy and Daddy for giving me this face! For everything, I give thanks! Next, she asked me on what am I doing currently. I replied that I am still schooling. Guess what? She assumed that I am from ITE. Erm .. being an undergraduate, in my very own opinion, I think that although most ITE students are working in retail line, we shouldnt look down on them, serious. Without them, retail operations would not be in progress and us customers, would not be able get our desired merchandise. Maybe ITE students are always in line with fashion trend? The divas and dudes! Keeping long & punky hair is a symbol for them?Labels: Relief

Makan Session 3
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 1:05 AM
Hahas ... these few days are really "days of reunion". From my earlier posts, I mentioned that I met Dewei, Calista and Clement.
As planned, I met my tutorial mates this evening. Thanks to Weilong, Jingwen, Xinyan, Jasmine and Huiyun for making this eat-out session a success. I am rather surprised that Jingwen bought us (male tutorial mates) 老婆饼 all the way from Hong Kong. Lols ... kind of noted her "blessings" for us to quickly find a girlfriend. Like I always say "Currently, I am more than willing to enter into a long term relationship as long as the right one appears and chemistry strucks." Eh ... not forgetting Weilong, for bringing us very unique chocolates from Genting Highlands. Hahas ... I ate it during our dinner at Suntec Fish & Co.

The declaration
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 1:05 AM
It has been around 2 months plus since I rejoined Guardian after my very last campus examination paper.
Seriously, there are much disputes of me returning back to the pharmacy. My tutorial mate remarked "Zave! Guardian pay is relatively low compared to other job!"; "Zave, you are currently an undergraduate, why work long hours?"; "Zave, I believe in you, come join me in Singapore Press Holdings"; etc. These are some comments that I faced when I chose to return to the pharmacy outlet the second time.
During my last work with the outlet (last year late Nov - Dec), I do enjoyed the experience very much. 那时候的我,在 junction8 Guardian 带走了一些美好回忆... thats the main reason why I rejected better part-time job and choose to return ...
The current experience with the outlet isnt that good, serious. Maybe undesirable arrangements had happened, diligent collegues have left/been forced to leave, the constant requests for schedule to be given to me, comments received about the store, sense of store's performance and operations deteriorating, and many more other reasons. ..... I am starting to get tired, serious
I informed my store in charge today that next week would be my last week with the store. He is kinda surprised (I have remarked much earlier that I could stay till month end), still as insensitive.
I will definitely return the store key. The next big question, should I return my uniform and sign the resignation letter? Labels: Declare

Met Calista and Clement today. It has been about 3 years since I met Calista. Hmm, she is still the same friendly Cal except that she looks more mature. Eh ... I am not referring that she has aged but more of a sense of "from girl to woman".
We planned to meet at VivoCity. We had dinner at Pastamania Harbourfront. I ordered "Carbonara" (rated by myself: 7.5/10) for myself while Clement and I shared a Ham Mushroom Pizza (rated by myself: 7/10). Later at about 9pm, we headed to Starbucks Coffee for a NON-ALCOHOLIC drink. Hahas
As a friend, I am glad and happy for Calista as she has finally found her prince charming, though its still the "before dating" phase. I told Calista that it is not easy for two persons to cross one another path. Moreover, life is beautiful especially with love. I shared with Clement and Calista on the "theory" of "being loved is always better than to love someone". However, each individual of us do have our vey own views.
Eh...when it comes to advising others on relationship issues, I seem to be an expert. However, if that incident gotta bestowed on me ... I am always kind of dumbfounded! Labels: Calista

Hmm, it has been real long since I met Dewei (my NS khaki), about a year! Having seen his most recent photographs on friendster, I anticpated that he would be "slightly" "rounder". However, to much surprises, he is still his very "original" look, or should I say, he didnt really change much! On the other hand, Dewei remarked that I have changed much, longer hair and buffer bod!
As usual, we have so much to share and talk about, from academic matters to relationships issues. We are still the same chattable! Lols . . .
We went to Tonkichi - Suntec (Japanese Restaurant) for dinner. Erm, I should say that the sashimi is real fresh but slightly too expensive. Ichiban Boshi won in terms of its price strategy while the former strives and excels on its food freshness. As for supper, we headed to Xin Wang Marina Square for some bites. I had chicken chop, pineapple bun and HK ice milk tea.
Ooops! Am I getting fatter? Nope! I have high metabolism rate and I gym . . .hiak hiakLabels: Dewei

Hey! Gorgeous
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 1:00 AM
Hmm... I saw my picture and particulars on the website (http://u.mediacorptv.com/hey/). What is the implication? I have actually joined Mediacorp Channel U's "Hey! Gorgeous" competition.
The reason for my participation being that I hope to gain another different experience in life. Liwei shared with me that this is an once in a life time experience, one should not have fear of "low confidence", "thick skinned", etc. He remarked that if you want to achieve something in life (not necessary winning the competition), go for it.
Currently, my votes are still accumulating rather slowly. Hmm, have been rather low profile in campus though. Hahas. If any of you would like to vote for me, do go to the above website, click on "Nanyang Technological University" and locate "Zave Zhuo". Thanks!
At the same time, I will prepare myself well...Labels: Go Go Go

Hair for Hope 2007
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 10:48 AM

"Treatment of cancer, including chemotherapy, causes hair loss in patients. Every shaven head represents an understanding of the ordeal that a child with cancer is subjected to. The act of shaving also helps to generate both public awareness on childhood cancer and financial support for CCF operations." - adapted from HFH newsletter.
Hair for Hope 2007 is an astounding success! Being my very first volunteer event, it has left me a memorable experience. Through this event, not only do I see the back-end of charity work, I also get to know other volunteers from all woks of life. They are Eugene, Wai Kit, Kern, Yu Wei, Paul, Desmond, Vince, Ronnie, Yew Seng, Louisa, Raena, Jason, Tricia, Yating, Pamela, Susie, Dylan, etc. I am looking forward to future CCF activities.
It all started on 30th Jun's night. The logistics team was at Velocity@Novena Square to ensure proper setup and logistics matter. Carrying 30+ Q poles, 10+ tables, 20+ chairs and other miscellaneous stuff are of no joke. Nevertheless, the hardwork is paid off as long as we light more hearts of our beneficiaries. Haha, not only did I get to lend a helping hand, I got a "free weight training" free!
The actual day, 1st July, was a real day to commemorate about. Not only did I get to stand on a 60cm high stage to sweep the fallen hair and locks, what really touched me were the charitable hearts of all the shavees and the contribution of all volunteers. Being my first participated event, I was spared from the razor! Phew~ (you know, I am trying to keep long hair), however, I might consider to shave next year!
The day ended with a 庆功宴 at Velocity's Fish and Co and a handful of us headed to "harrys" for a drink!Labels: Good Job
