The celebration!
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 8:38 AM

It was like about 5am in the morning when I got to touch my cosy bed after our countdown at East Coast. With only 3 hours of sleep, I dragged my lazy bones out of bed and reported to the pharmacy for work. Hahas!
About afternoon time, I was surprised and delighted to see Shermaine, Chantilyn and her brother. They are children who participated in my group during the annual CCF Camp. Simultaneously, they wished "Zhicong Gor Gor, Merry Christmas". Thank God, I was in time to pass them some candies as Xmas "gifts". Hahas!
At night, we had pizzas and bubble tea for dinner. Siu Ying, Kayzar, Hamidah and myself celebrated Xmas together. Hahas!
Yet another surprise! Stephanie prepared pasta for us. It was evident that the amount prepared is for more than one person. However, undisputably, the others argued that it was cooked especially for me...Labels: Xmas2007

X'mas Countdown 2007
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 8:26 AM

It was a rather different experience this year. Together with a few of the other CCF volunteers, we had our X'mas Countdown at East Coast Park. It was pot luck style coupled with games and forfeits. And of course, chill out!
The canvas groundsheet held a wide spread of food like alcoholic drinks, curry and breads, pies, chocolate eclairs, salad, subway sandwiches, ham and cheese, soft drinks ... and the list continues. We were all crazy when engaged in the games and sporty when forfeits were to be cleared.
Hahas ... it was really unexpected to be crowned the "absolute blower" ... oops! Refering to balloons, of course. Aniwae, think we were just too wild and carried away last night.
It was a pretty enjoyable experience to lay on the breakwater, with cool sea breeze brushing against us and of course a cloudy night sky above us. Not forgetting the fire splitters ... back to childhood days!Labels: Countdown

Christmas 2007!
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 11:25 PM

Its another Christmas yet and again.
Hereby, wishing all a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hew Year.
It was so thoughtful of Sariah to bought us Xmas Log Cake. Hahas ... it seems like BONUS makes wonder yar? Finally done with all the pressie wrappings. Hmm, quite "budget" for this year as I kinda have to save for my Malaysia trip. Hahahas!
Met my ex-superior cum Mentor, Ms. Fong yesterday. Listened to her recent stories ... kind of tearing, serious. Nevertheless, hope she is better after pouring out with me. Hmm, seems like I need to heed her advice by 1) Maintaining my image and 2) Finding a niche for myself. Very importantly, find a bottomline and not expectations when comes to relationship issues. Noted!Labels: Xmas07

CCF Volunteers Outing!
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 9:37 PM

Watched "Alvin & the Chipmunks" yesterday with some of CCF Volunteers. If you desire something light and comical, this is the show for you! I am starting to like "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)" and of course, Theodore!
Went for KTV after the movie. It's fun to sing with the rest and of course, duet with Serene!Labels: Chipmunks

Good Service begins from U!
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 8:01 AM
Met my L'Oreal Marketing Team this afternoon to discuss on our project. The discussion was pretty great with several issues settled. Seriously, I am starting to gain affection towards this project!
Encountered a pretty rude customer today. She was dressed as a typical "tai tai" (no offence to general tai tai yar?) and was accompanied by her son. She asked my colleague on the location of tapes for bandage. I believe my colleague directed her politely to the "bandages" section. After some search, she stomped to the cashier point again. Then, I was on the phone with a "call-in" customer. The former requested in a even higher tone now: "So, there really isnt anyone to assist me?". My colleague, busy with cashiering, told her politely again to retrieve from that area indicated earlier. One of my promoters walked up towards that lady. As this promoter is chinese educated, she asked her politely in chinese and requested the lady to have her request in chinese so that she can help. Guess what that lasy says? She replied: "You better reply me in English when I talk to you in English!". Gosh!
I believe that if you demand for quality service, you yourself must protray the appropriate attitude.Labels: service

Missing the Camp? Moving On?
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 5:31 AM
Yesterday, I received Shermaine's sms on my mobile. She said "Haha ... I miss the camp alot =)". While working at the pharmacy today, I received another sms from her. She remarked "Hey Zhicong gor gor you add my email wrongly. Anywayx i added u already." She is kind of eager to chat to us online. It really conveys her affection towards the befrienders as well as the annual ccf camp.
Upon reaching home, chatted with her on MSN. At the same time, sent her a couple of pictures taken. She even replied that "Raena Jie Jie, Lina Jie Jie, The Lotus Prince and The Jelly gor gor left her the deepest impression!". Who's lotus prince? Up to your guesses!
Finally get settled and done with my materials for tml's L'Oreal Marketing Project Discussion. Well Done Zave!Labels: Sentiments

CCF Camp 2007!
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 10:29 PM

CCF Camp 07 was an astounding success. Despite the last minute changes to a no stay through camp and a change of camp venue, all the programmes ran pretty well! A great job well done to the committee members, Group Leaders, Befrienders, Photographers, Parents and of course the children.
The first night was a time of tiredness. Perhaps during the day, we had to listen to instructions, manage the group, look into the overall well-being of the children, the repetitive water parade and the endless chase over our 2 little kids in our group!
The second night was a moment of emotions and mixed feelings. Seriously, asked myself questions like "Did a uphold the role of a Co-GL well?", "Did I provide the best for both the befrienders and children?", etc. I almost teared when Marcus and Wei Jie each gave me a tight hug. 2 days, without stay thtu, might/should not for befrienders to feel the affection . . . but I, seriously, do.
Would like to take this opportunity to thank the main committee for putting in so much effort into planning for the event to seeing the activity came to frution. Would also like to thank the volunteer coordinator, Victor, for his trust in me to be a co-GL. Next the parents for their trusts in putting the children in our care. Last but not least, my 6 befrienders; Raena, Dawn, Azizah, Edgar, JK and Lina. Not forgetting, Jean, GL for Whoosh, thanks for your guidance and the opportunities given. I am thankful!Labels: Camp 07

Gosh!
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 7:45 PM
I was scheduled to register for my upcoming modules this morning. And you know, in a tertiary institution, hot modules and ideal time slots are like hot cakes. If you don't register on the time of registration, you are bound to get a rather dismay timetable. For example, no "off" days; lots of staggered hours . . .
The registration was at 930am. When I woke up, it was already 10.15am. Gosh! 45 mins had passed . . . so many things could have happened within the 45 mins . . . All the "fast fingers" and "early birds" would have secure their time slot! Boo~
Thank god! After a relatively challenging challenge, I gotta the modules I want and of course, one off day! Whee~
Phew~

Double surprises?
Blogged by.. Knight-errant @ 10:15 AM
With CCF annual camp approaching in less than 1 day, coupled with me back working at the pharmacy, I have been sleeping late lately.
- Prepared timetable for my upcoming semester
- Handling all the emails, mobile smses and impromptu matters triggered at us CO-GLs
- Preparing materials for L'Oreal Marketing Project (From survey forms to competitors analysis)
- Attended student Union main comm meeting and liaised with team members on appropriate dates to meet up for program discussion
I have been unusally busy!
Back to the camp, gotta news that Marcus is sick and will not be attending the camp as planned. To make matter worse, that is a change of camp format and venue; from a stay-thru camp to a day camp; from Changi Adventure Centre to Yishun Safra . . .
Lets not have these to dampen our spirit . . looking forward to CCF Annual Camp 2007!Labels: camp
